Most training shoes on the market feature a zero drop but the Inov-8 All Train 215 is an all-around training sneaker so they do not offer that feature. Rather, they have more cushioning and soft support in the midsole, resulting in an 8mm drop. This puts these shoes in between a typical running sneaker and a typical training shoe.
As far as trail running shoes go, the Inov-8 X-Talon 212 falls squarely into the minimalist approach to the sport. There are plenty of other brands out there with much more padding and cushioning overall, such as the Salomon Speedcross 4 and the Prio shoe by Xero, but few match the Inov-8 when it comes to tread performance and versatility
This isn’t a shoe that requires much break-in at all. Fit-wise the TerRocs run about a half-size small, just like the Roclites. They weigh 12.3 oz per shoe in a size 9.5 Mens US vs. 12.5 oz each for the Roclites. In contrast to the Roclites, it feels like the internal volume and width of the TerRocs is a bit larger and wider.

I have wide feet, and I really appreciate that Inov-8 designed these shoes with a wide toe box. As with the Trailtalon 250s I ordered two years ago, these are probably overall the best running shoes I've had: springy, responsive cushioning, superior grip, less-than-usual heel-to-to drop, continuous sole (no weird arch gap on the sole between

As trail shoe companies clamor to create the most minimal barefoot shoe on the market, Inov-8 may have just trumped the whole gang by releasing a shoe which can barely be defined as a “shoe”.
These have slightly more foot padding than their sister shoe – the ultra light 195s – but otherwise are the same. The 230s are made very simply with a breathable mesh body and a half of an inch of flexible sole. The heel of the sole is considerably more solid than the arch and toe area, allowing for a considerable amount of flex.
We have graded the fit of all our shoes from 1 to 5 to make it easy for you to find the perfect fitting shoe. All our shoes are designed with Met-Cradle technology to lock down the mid-foot for a stable hold. Where they differ is in the toe box. Grade 1 represents our closest, most precise fit.
The Inov-8 OROC 280 is a shoe I never wanted to buy. After two winter running seasons with way too many sidewalks, roads, and even trails covered in snow-turned-slush-turned-solid-ice I was fed up with running on the tread mill. What I needed for the coming winter was a shoe with enough traction to get me through ice and snow at a decent pace.
Inov-8 are marketing the Trailroc 285 as a shoe that is designed for running over hard packed trails around the world, no matter how rocky. Well, I agree with that statement 100%. And it’s also touted to be: “perfect for running long miles, due to its extra protection, support and comfort over hard and rocky trails.
